Iron Star Medallion Painting in Plano, TX

This project involved refinishing 36 decorative iron star medallions mounted along the fence line of a residential property in Plano, TX. These Texas star accents are a popular detail on cedar fences in the area, but like any iron piece exposed to the weather, the finish had started to chip and fade over time.

Our crew removed the stars, lightly sanded each one to clear off loose paint and surface rust, then hand-painted every piece with a brush to make sure the coverage was even across the raised star and ring detail — a sprayer would waste product and risk overspray on a piece this small and detailed. The full process for all 36 stars took about 3 hours from start to finish.

The finished result brought every star back to a clean, uniform black finish, restoring a small but noticeable detail that adds character to the fence line across the whole property.
