North Texas weather can be tough on outdoor wood. Constant exposure to intense sunlight, heat, rain, and moisture can gradually fade, gray, dry out, and deteriorate your fence or deck.
Strong Texas sunlight can fade and gray outdoor wood over time, affecting both its appearance and condition.
Extended periods of heat and changing temperatures can dry out wood and contribute to cracking, warping, and premature aging.
Repeated exposure to rain and moisture can contribute to swelling, deterioration, mold, and mildew when wood is not properly protected.
Your fence or deck is exposed to changing outdoor conditions throughout the year. Without proper protection, that ongoing exposure can gradually take its toll.
Regular exposure takes a toll on outdoor wood. Professional staining helps seal and protect your fence or deck, keeping it better equipped to handle the sun, moisture, and changing conditions throughout the year.
Get Your Free EstimateA professional staining project involves more than applying stain to the wood. We handle the preparation, cleaning, property protection, staining, and cleanup needed to complete the job properly and leave your fence or deck looking refreshed and protected.
Before staining begins, we make sure the service area is ready and the wood is properly prepared. The surface needs to be clean and dry so it can absorb the stain as intended.
Depending on the condition of the wood, we use the appropriate cleaning method to remove mold, mildew, grime, and other buildup. Cleaning prepares the surface for the staining application.
We take care to protect the areas around your fence or deck during the project. Surrounding surfaces and items that cannot be moved are covered or shielded to the best of our ability.
Once the wood is ready, our crew applies the selected stain to the fence or deck. We typically apply 2–3 wet coats, or as much as the wood will take, depending on the surface.
After the staining is complete, our crew takes care of the finishing details and cleans up the work area. Stain overspray is cleaned using Dawn dish soap and water, and the crew cleans the fence poles after staining.
There are a few things we ask homeowners to take care of before our crew arrives. Knowing what to expect helps us access the work area, prepare the wood properly, and keep the project moving efficiently.
You do not have to be home while we work. Just make sure all gates needed to access the service area are unlocked, and that our crew has access to water and power.
Please remove furniture, potted plants, personal belongings, and other soft materials from the areas being serviced before the crew arrives.
Trim back plants and landscaping around the service area so our crew can properly access the fence or deck.
Cars need to be removed from driveways before the crew begins work.
Sprinklers should be turned off at least 24 hours before and after staining. The wood needs to be dry before the stain can be applied.
For the safety of both your pets and our crew, animals need to be kept out of the service area while work is being completed.
Our crews do not work in the rain, and staining cannot be completed when winds exceed 15 mph. Weather conditions may affect the timing of your project.
Crew arrival times are estimates rather than exact times. We will call the day before the job to provide a rough estimate of when the crew is expected to arrive.
