Arbor Staining in Plano, TX

This project involved staining an attached patio arbor on a residential property in Plano, TX. Structures like this take heavy sun exposure across every exposed beam and rafter, since there’s no siding or roofing to shield the wood the way a fence panel gets partial shade from its neighbors.

Our crew hand-brushed the entire structure — the support beams, cross rafters, and trim — rather than spraying it, which took about 4 hours to get full coverage into every joint and angle overhead. Hand-brushing overhead work like this is slower than a fence or deck, but it’s the only way to avoid drips and get even coverage on angled surfaces.

The finished result protects the arbor from UV damage and moisture while giving it a rich, finished look that matches the rest of the outdoor living space.
